How remote control will work from your phone
At launch, remote control will be the free tier of the muniment app. A phone paired to your free account will drive the desktop during a session you open on the desktop. Sessions will use end-to-end encryption, with direct connections first and relay fallback. The cloud will only relay that session. The free account will cost nothing and add only this mobile connection.
What you need first
At launch, remote control will require these steps:
- Install the desktop app.
- Create a free account.
- Pair your phone to that free account.
Download the desktop app. The mobile app will follow in a future release. Remote control will work only while the desktop remains online and the run remains live.
Live session relay
During a live run, the desktop will send full session events to the phone. Without a direct connection, the desktop will use an outbound HTTPS connection to the relay. The relay will forward encrypted events to the phone and commands back to the desktop. The phone will display the session and send controls.
Our mobile relay rule will define this boundary: “your data stays on your machine, and the relay carries an encrypted session you chose to open.”
Run controls
From your phone, you will steer the active run, queue a follow-up, or interrupt the run.
Remote approvals
From your phone, you will answer a desktop ask gate with Allow once, Allow for this thread, or Deny. The run receipt will record each answer.
